Details - Hospitality, Sports & Leisure is the platform responsible for managing the Hospitality, Sports & Leisure areas of Arrow Global in Portugal, being responsible for managing the main hotel units, located in Vilamoura, Carvoeiro, Lagos, Albufeira, Aroeira and Madeira, as well as golf courses and equestrian centers

Overall Purpose

Buyer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the purchasing of goods and services required for our organization. Key tasks include working with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely acquisition of high-quality materials at competitive prices. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, some market knowledge, and the ability to drive cost efficiencies while maintaining strong supplier relationships.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the procurement of products and services, ensuring the company's needs are met in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring best-in-class pricing, terms, and performance.
  • Analyze market trends and forecast purchasing needs to ensure availability of stock and prevent supply chain disruptions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier risk by addressing performance issues and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Maintenance, Finance. ) to ensure seamless coordination between procurement and other operational functions.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of purchasing transactions.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and performance metrics.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control efforts related to procurement activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers, ensuring they understand and follow company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to continuously improve the procurement process.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2 + years of experience within this role.
  • Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - xls, ppt,
