The Controlling BI Expert will support data-driven decision-making by developing and managing business intelligence tools and planning processes.
Description
Subject-matter expert for specialized controlling and finance topics;
Develop and maintain BI solutions (dashboards, reports, and data models) tailored to controlling processes, including budgeting, midterm planning, and forecasting;
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across controlling systems, reporting platforms, and financial datasets;
Collaborate with Controlling Managers, Analysts, and Local/Divisional Controlling to translate controlling process requirements into BI solutions that support decision making;
Drive automation and digitalization of controlling processes, including midterm planning, forecasting, and management reporting, reducing manual workloads and errors;
Monitor BI tools and ensure timely updates, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues affecting controlling reports and analyses;
Support definition, calculation & visualization of controlling KPIs, ensuring harmonized metrics across countries, divisions, and funds;
Provide BI support for variance analysis, scenario planning, and performance monitoring, enabling controlling teams to identify risks and opportunities;
Document and train staff on BI tools, reporting standards, and process-related analytics, ensuring correct usage;
Collaborate with IT and data governance teams to ensure system stability, compliance with data standards, and alignment with group controlling requirements;
Continuously identify opportunities to enhance controlling insights through advanced analytics, improved forecasting models, and more efficient reporting.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field;
Experience in Business Intelligence, Financial Controlling, FP&A, or Management Reporting;
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, mid-term planning, variance analysis, and management reporting processes;
Proven experience developing dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI (or similar BI tools);
Advanced knowledge of SQL, data modelling, and data visualization;
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and financial data;
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail;
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable BI and reporting solutions;
Experience driving process automation and digitalization initiatives within Finance or Controlling;
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Controlling, IT, and business teams;
Experience working in an international and matrix organization is considered an advantage;
Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
