Your New Role 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will support the business as the first line of contact. You will create, optimise, and enhance the data architecture as well as fix upcoming issues. You will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to find sustainable solutions to connect our IT systems, perform root cause analysis, and find solutions with the support of strong IT colleagues.

 

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex business requirements relating to the Company´s core planning environment.
• Evaluate existing systems and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
• Support the Solution Owner in SDLC (analysis, design, solution configuration, development, testing, deployment, rollout tasks).
• Build a strong working knowledge of existing business processes end-to-end, System Administration, Mapping, and interface design.
• Review, analyse, and evaluate the work of 3rd party service partners and hand over proper specifications to them.
• Ensure reusability of design for common processes and eliminate custom developments where applicable.
• Analyse the business-IT environment to detect critical system deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Translate Business requirements into functional specs and provide estimation when requested.
• Write test scripts and execute testing as required.
• Oversee software quality assurance testing and validate solutions developed by third parties.
• Document all the solution architecture design and analysis work completed.
• Perform project management for smaller solution changes

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Science and Technology.
• +5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role. 
• Strong knowledge of Data engineering concepts including Data Integration, Data Architecture, Data Modelling.
• Fluent in English.
• Proven and practical experience analysing/building solutions with Cloud/On-Prem Technologies and DevOps toolchain implementation.
• Knowledge in Azure technologies ADF, Databricks.
• Knowledge of version control tools (Git/Gitlab/Bitbucket/GitHub).
• Knowledge of Python.
