Quadrante is looking to strengthen its Transport Infrastructures Business Unit by recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer for the Geotechnics department, based at our Oporto office.

With both national and international projects of varying scales and typologies, Quadrante offers a unique professional experience in the Portuguese engineering market.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of complex geotechnical projects taking technical responsibility for proposed solutions, with focus on excavations, foundations and ground improvement works;
• Perform and validate advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, immediate and time-dependent settlements and soil-structure interaction, using specialized software (like Plaxis 2D/3D), ensuring the quality of analytical models;
• Review and interpret geotechnical and geological investigation reports to derive design parameters and support the development of ground models and design solutions;
• Define and optimize geotechnical solutions, evaluate their behavior, undertake detailed design, and perform all required ultimate and serviceability limit state verifications, ensuring technical and economic efficiency.
• Ensure project compliance with national and international codes and standards, applying industry best practices and meeting client- and sector-specific requirements;
• Develop and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications and bill of quantities, ensuring technical rigour and consistency;
• Support and guide project teams, providing mentoring to junior engineers and ensuring technical alignment within the team and across disciplines;
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement, staying up to date with geotechnical engineering advancements and proposing improvements to design methods, internal processes, and project tools.

Profile:

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Professional experience in the development of geotechnical design projects (Minimum of 10 years);
• The ideal candidate should possess skills and experience in the following software:
• Proficiency in Plaxis 2D (Required)
• Proficiency in limit equilibrium software like Slope/W or Slide2 (Required)
• Familiarity with Sap2000 or Robot (Required in the context of geotechnical projects)
• Knowledge of Plaxis 3D (Not required but considered an advantage)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Required)
• Knowledge of Revit or Allplan (Not required but considered an advantage)
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a team, combined with a strong sense of responsibility and autonomy;
• Focus on technical excellence, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
