Located in Cascais, Portugal, Aprendizes is an independent private school educating students aged 3 to 18. We offer the Portuguese National Curriculum from preschool through 4th grade and the Cambridge International Curriculum for grades 5 to 12. What We're looking For:

We are seeking a dedicated teacher to join our mathematics department. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled educator to inspire students and fostering a love for mathematics while ensuring excellence in teaching and learning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring a high standards of teaching and learning in Math.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic, student-centred curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
  • Be a part of the Math department of 3-4 mathematics teachers, fostering collaboration and continuous professional growth.
  • Apply innovative teaching methods, including active, inquiry-based, and project-based learning.
  • Connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications, enhancing student engagement.
  • Promote the integration of technology in math instruction.
  • Support students in extracurricular activities such as mathematics competitions, STEM projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student achievement.

  • Is passionate about mathematics and dedicated to student success.
  • Brings expertise in mathematics education, paired with student-centered teaching methods.

  • Values collaboration and thrives in a diverse, inclusive, and caring school community.
  • Wants to support students in initiatives such as Model United Nations, Duke of Edinburgh, and student-led projects.


Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification and substantial teaching experience.
  • Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE/A-level) or another international curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management and curriculum development skills.
  • Experience with active, inquiry-based, and project-based learning methodologies.
  • Fluency in English (proficiency in Portuguese is a plus).
  • Digital literacy and a willingness to integrate technology into teaching.
  • The ability to build strong, supportive relationships of equal worth with students and families.
