Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Grower based in Pegões, Setúbal, reporting to the Head of Production and working closely with Senior Growers and the cultivation leadership team.

The Junior Grower supports the day-to-day execution of cannabis cultivation operations, with a strong focus on plant care, fertigation support, sanitation activities, and accurate execution of established cultivation procedures and SOPs.

This is a highly hands-on and operational role. You will work directly in the grow rooms alongside cultivation technicians and senior staff, supporting daily cultivation activities, assisting with fertigation preparation, monitoring crop health, and ensuring tasks are performed consistently and in compliance with approved cultivation methods and quality standards.

The Junior Grower is expected to follow established cultivation practices, contribute to operational stability and repeatability, and actively develop technical skills under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily cultivation activities, including irrigation, pruning, defoliation, transplanting and crop monitoring
• Execute standardized cultivation practices in accordance with approved cultivation methods, SOPs and work instructions
• Assist with the preparation of fertilizer recipes and nutrient solutions as defined in the approved cultivation plan
• Support mixing of stock tanks and fertigation solutions under supervision, ensuring correct dosing and EC/pH targets
• Perform and support sanitation activities for fertigation and cultivation systems, including tank cleaning and line flushing
• Monitor plant health and environmental conditions and report deviations to senior growers or supervisors
• Support accurate and timely record-keeping for cultivation, fertigation and sanitation activities
• Contribute to compliance with GMP/GACP requirements and internal quality standards
• Follow hygiene, biosecurity and contamination prevention procedures at all times
• Actively participate in on-the-job training and continuous improvement of cultivation practices

Qualifications

• Initial hands-on experience in cannabis cultivation or horticultural production (internships or entry-level roles accepted)
• Practical interest in structured cultivation programs and standardized execution
• Basic understanding of fertigation systems, nutrient mixing and EC/pH control is an advantage
• Willingness to learn and work within GMP/GACP-regulated environments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
• Good teamwork and communication skills in an operational environment
• Bachelor's degree (or currently completing) in horticulture, agriculture, plant sciences or a related field is an advantage
• Previous experience in a GMP-certified cultivation facility is a plus, but not required
