Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Grower based in Pegões, Setúbal, reporting to the Head of Production. The Senior Grower is responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of cannabis cultivation operations, with a strong focus on managing cultivation technicians, fertigation systems, and crop health, while working within the established cultivation methodology and SOPs in place.

This role is highly hands-on and operational. You will directly oversee technicians while they are working in the grow rooms, ensure tasks are executed correctly and consistently, prepare and manage fertilizer recipes, and maintain strict sanitation and hygiene standards across all fertigation and cultivation systems. The Senior Grower is expected to apply established cultivation methods consistently, supporting operational stability, repeatability, and compliance.

Key Responsabilities

• Directly supervise and support cultivation technicians during daily activities, ensuring work is carried out in line with approved cultivation methods, SOPs, and work instructions
• Execute standardized cultivation practices and support consistent application of the cultivation methodology
• Manage daily plant care activities, including irrigation, pruning, defoliation, transplanting, and crop monitoring
• Prepare fertilizer recipes and manage nutrient programs as defined in the approved cultivation plan
• Mix stock tanks and fertigation solutions, ensuring accurate dosing, EC/pH targets, and recipe adherence
• Oversee and verify fertigation system sanitation, including tank cleaning, line flushing, and contamination prevention
• Monitor plant health and environmental conditions, escalating deviations through appropriate channels
• Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping for cultivation, fertigation, and sanitation activities
• Support compliance with GMP/GACP requirements and internal quality standards
• Provide on-the-floor technical guidance to technicians while reinforcing consistency and best practices

Qualifications

• Hands on experience in cannabis cultivation
• Strong practical understanding of structured cultivation programs and standardized execution
• Experience supervising cultivation technicians in an operational environment
• Practical experience with fertigation systems, nutrient mixing, EC/pH control, and sanitation
• Familiarity with GMP/GACP-regulated environments
• Strong attention to detail, consistency, and operational discipline
• Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, plant sciences, or a related science
• Experience in a GMP-certified cannabis cultivation facility is an advantage
