As Maintenance Manager, you’ll ensure all aspects of hotel maintenance and condition are kept to the very best standards and in line with all relevant health and safety legislation and procedures. You’ll also keep an organized and secure maintenance department, motivating and training your team with the skills to keep the hotel always looking its best, while supporting the day-to-day operational maintenance activities of the hotel.
Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests
Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance
Train your team to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently
Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed
Responsible for developing and implementing the Emergency Plan.
Ensure full operational coverage at all times, guaranteeing that all shifts are staffed without compromising hotel operations.
Ensure that there is always at least one trained and competent person on site, capable of handling any operational or emergency situation.
Guarantee that all team members receive appropriate training and information to respond effectively to any unexpected event.
Provide regular training to Duty Managers and Heads of Department on emergency procedures and response plans.
Ensure all HODs and Duty Managers are familiar with key technical systems (e.g., electrical panels, water systems, HVAC, and other critical infrastructure).
Higher technical or professional training (electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, special technical installations)
Practical knowledge and proven experience in the technical management of high-standard buildings, including HVAC, electrical, hydraulic systems, elevators and swimming pools.
Ability to work in historic buildings or buildings with unique architecture, respecting conservation and safety standards
High availability and ability to act quickly in the event of critical failures (AC, elevators, water, electricity) without compromising guest comfort
Ability to manage suppliers and technical costs
Ability to manage preventive management and technical planning
Hotel experience preferred
Must be able to speak local language(s) and be fluent in English
