Your new RoleThe Data & Platform Architect will be responsible for defining and leading the target architecture, standards and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns for HAVI’s Azure and Databricks-based Data & Platform landscape, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, cost-efficient and aligned with strategic business needs.
This person will guide delivery teams to follow consistent architectural principles across ingestion, transformation, data products, governance and consumption, ensuring platforms are supportable and aligned with enterprise standards.
The Data & Platform Architect will:
- Define the target architecture for the Azure + Databricks Data & Platform ecosystem;
- Establish and maintain platform standards (naming, branching, CI/CD, testing and observability);
- Define security and compliance architecture (including identity, access controls, secrets, networks, encryption and audit logging);
- Create reference implementations and reusable assets (templates, libraries and patterns);
- Lead architecture and design reviews for data products, integrations and platform enhancements;
- Partner with Engineering and DevOps to ensure infrastructure and configurations align with standards (IaC, cluster policies and environments);
- Drive technical debt reduction and platform modernization;
- Document architecture decisions, best practices and cost-efficiency principles.
What you will need to succeed
As a Data & Platform Architect, you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field;
- +8 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Architecture;
- Proven experience designing solutions on hyperscale (Azure preferred);
- Experience designing modern Data Architecture (Medallion architecture);
- Experience defining non-functional requirements (availability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery and monitoring):
- Experience driving architecture adoption with delivery teams;
- Expertise with Databricks, Azure DevOps, GitHub and DBT;
- Strong knowledge of Data Integration patterns and Data Modeling approaches (Kimball, Data Products, Data Contracts and SLAs);
- Strong understanding of security and governance patterns (AAD/RBAC, secrets management, network controls, encryption, auditing and data privacy);
- Ability to translate non-functional requirements into platform standards and reference implementations;
- Strong focus on automation and Infrastructure as Code;
- Strong analytical and influencing skills;
Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.
