Cobol Developer
Location: Lisbon (Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite per week)
Type: Full-time
Languages: French & English B1
Eligibility: Candidates must hold a valid work permit for Portugal
Position Overview:
Are you passionate about the backbone of critical business systems? Do you have a knack for maintaining and evolving mainframe environments that keep industries moving? We're looking for a Cobol Developer who thrives in complex enterprise landscapes and enjoys tackling technical challenges with confidence and precision.
Requirements:
Tech stack: COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, TSO / Eclipse, Changeman
Strong command of one or more of the following environments:
- IBM i / AS400 (iSeries)
- Mainframe
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of autonomy, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility
Comfortable working in critical application environments
Fluent in French: B1 (minimum) and English: B2 (minimum)
You already live in Portugal and hold a valid work permit
Language skills: French B1
Key Responsabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications
- Analyze functional and technical requirements
- Contribute to corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing applications
- Perform unit testing and support user acceptance testing phases
- Work closely with functional and technical teams
- Document developments and technical procedures
- Ensure the quality, robustness, and long-term sustainability of delivered solutions
