We are seeking a talented and motivated Cobol Developer with proficient French language skills (minimum B2 level) to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cobol development and a deep understanding of legacy systems, alongside an eagerness to contribute to innovative projects within an international environment.

Based in our LISBOA office in the United Kingdom, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems for our European clients. You will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing and supporting software applications developed with Cobol. The role also involves understanding business requirements, analysing issues and implementing effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test and debug Cobol applications in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Perform impact analysis and provide technical documentation for enhancements and modifications.
• Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests in accordance with SLAs.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with French-speaking clients and team members to gather requirements and provide technical support.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Cobol programming (minimum 3 years preferred).
• Knowledge of mainframe environments (z/OS, JCL, CICS, DB2) is essential.
• Familiarity with tools such as TSO/ISPF, Endevor and FileAid.
• Fluent in French (minimum B2 level) - both spoken and written.
• Good command of English for working in a bilingual environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
