Your new role

As an AI Engineer, you will contribute to the development of intelligent capabilities that enhance internal tools and enterprise systems. You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, transforming complex requirements into reliable, scalable solutions. Collaborating with developers, architects, and fellow AI engineers, you will help shape new features, improve existing services, and ensure seamless integration of AI components across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement features powered by Large Language Models for internal platforms and engineering tools

• Build, refine, and maintain Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and efficient context management

• Develop prompt strategies, tools, and interaction flows suitable for production environments

• Assess system behaviour through structured evaluation, quality checks, and iterative experimentation

• Monitor performance metrics—such as latency, throughput, and cost—to optimise AI workloads in live systems

• Partner closely with cross-functional teams throughout design, implementation, and delivery phases

• Produce clear documentation covering architectural decisions, experiments, and operational guidelines

What you’ll need to succeed

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent technical field

• Up to 4 years of total professional experience

• Minimum 2 years working with AI or machine-gunner technologies

• At least 1 year building or integrating production-grade LLM solutions

• Strong programming proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js (experience with NestJS is a bonus)

• Solid grounding in software architecture, distributed systems, and scalable service design

• Experience with API development and integration across service-based environments

• Practical understanding of RAG structures, embeddings, and retrieval workflows

• Knowledge of containerised environments and deployment via Kubernetes

• Hands-on experience with LLM providers such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalents

• Strong analytical mindset and pragmatic problem-solving approach

• Good communication skills in English

• Fluent Portuguese

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI solutions for developer productivity or enterprise automation

• Familiarity with tool-calling mechanisms, agent-driven patterns, or modern orchestration frameworks

• Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search systems, or retrieval infrastructure

• Exposure to evaluation pipelines, monitoring tools, or MLOps for AI solutions

• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Insight into enterprise integration tools such as Fusion Middleware, Tibco, or webMethods
