Good Friday Robotics specializes in the development of drones for surveying confined spaces and hazardous environments.

We are seeking a Point Cloud Mapping Technician to join our team of passionate, skilled, and creative individuals fueled by research and innovation. This role will focus on creating high quality, unified 3D maps using data from a range of sources.

If you have a keen interest in UAVs, robotics, and tackling complex technical challenges in unique environments, this position is for you.

This is a contract position based in our prototyping facility in Oeiras, Portugal.

The Role:

You will be working with point clouds from a mix of LiDAR scanners including drone-mounted sensors, handheld scanners, and photogrammetry-derived data - along with RTK positioning data. Your goal will be to bring these datasets together into accurate, clean, client-ready 3D models.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with point clouds from multiple sources.
• Proficient in tools like CloudCompare, Autodesk (ReCap, Civil 3D, etc.), or similar.
• Familiarity with drone workflows and photogrammetry.
• Experienced in creative 3D modelling welcome, Blender etc.
• Confident in aligning datasets using RTK/GNSS reference points.
• Ability to troubleshoot and clean noisy data, merge scans, and produce final deliverables.
• Excellent communication and documentation habits.
• Comfortable in working within a collaborative startup environment alongside hardware and software engineers.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in "vectorization" or "feature extraction" from point clouds is an asset.
