Job Title: Spa Therapist

Reports to: Spa Manager

Responsible for: Developing an excellent service to clients/ guests

The Spa Therapist's responsibilities include greeting all guests, providing information about spa services and products, performing a variety of spa treatments, ensuring the highest standards of service, maintaining a clean and organized work area, recommending appropriate treatments based on client needs and follow-up appointments in the computer system.

Additionally, the therapist is responsible for charging clients for services performed and promoting spa products to enhance the guest experience

Job Requirements:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a: Spa Therapist (facial & body)

• Therapists – NVQ level 2, 3, CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC – OND or HND, VTCT, City&Guilds
• Hotel environment or Spa
• Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy is preferred

- Languages: English: Professional Level / Spanish: Professional Level

Other languages are highly valued (French, German, Russian, Arabic)

Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills

Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality

Excellent communication, listening and computer skills

Must be a team player

Must have weekend availability

Key tasks as follows:

Guest/Operation

Perform all treatments at an exceptional standard, as per Ashiana Wellness protocols and standards

taught in training, whilst tailoring to the client’s specific needs

To ensure the beauty treatments provided, meet the needs of the client

Allocating all rooms daily, in liaison with housekeeping and sometimes also with maintenance

Ability to lead and motivate a team of Therapists to deliver outstanding client care and treatment standards

Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves the spa

Experience at supervisory level within a five star hotel spa environment

Previous experience of overseeing a stock control process

Excellent personal grooming and presentation skills

Recognised beauty therapy/massage qualification with previous experience in a 5* spa environment

Perform a variety of high end facials, massages, body treatments

Also be able to offer Holistic Treatments such as Reiki, Reflexology, Energy Healing

Maintain complete confidentiality in all guest matters in accordance with company policy

Must be able to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time

Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention

Skills such as Breathwork, Sound Healing an advantage

Financial

Assist in promoting spa and body care products to guests and offer full product knowledge

Provide information as requested by the Finance Department regarding all activities related to the spa department

Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment; inform management when stock is low

People & Development

Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment; inform management when stock is low

Develop a culture of excellence within the team

Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa

Be part of a creating and nurturing philosophy throughout the business to ensure a great team spirit

Sales & Marketing

Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available

Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests; develop professional and personalized relationship with regular guests

Ability to perform the duties of the Retail Consultant as needed

Handle guests’ questions and concerns promptly, professionally and courteously
