Multinational in the Energy & Renewables sector is currently looking to hire a Solar Electrical Engineer for their operations in Lisbon.

Description

As a Solar Electric Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, installation, and optimization of solar power systems. You will work closely with our project management, design, and field teams to deliver high-quality solar solutions that meet the needs of our residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Your technical expertise will ensure that systems are designed and implemented efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Engineering: Design photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems, including electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and system specifications, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety codes and regulations (NEC, UL).
  • Site Assessments & Feasibility Studies: Conduct site visits to assess feasibility and determine optimal solar panel placement, electrical connections, and system sizing based on energy needs and environmental conditions.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and installers to oversee the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems.
  • System Analysis & Troubleshooting: Perform detailed system performance analysis, identify faults, and provide troubleshooting solutions to ensure reliable, long-term system operation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all solar electric designs and installations comply with local, state, and national regulations, including utility interconnection standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor the performance of installed systems and implement corrective actions to maximize energy efficiency and output.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, system documentation, and as-built drawings to support installation, maintenance, and future upgrades.
  • Research & Development: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in solar energy, and provide insights for improving system designs and project processes.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of solar electric systems.
  • Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design, electrical codes (NEC), and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar).
  • Experience with energy storage systems (batteries, inverters) and hybrid systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
