Your new Role
The Workplace Engineer plays a pivotal role in shaping the Modern Digital Workplace by managing and securing the identity lifecycle and end-user access across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem within Havi. This role ensures that all users enjoy a secure, efficient, and integrated experience, bridging identity management, device compliance, and security protocols.
As a Workplace Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Identity & Access Management » Administer user identities via Azure Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID, ensuring robust and secure authentication;
- Security Enforcement » Implement and maintain advanced security measures like Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access to protect user access;
- Device Management & Compliance » Oversee end-user device security and compliance using Microsoft Intune, ensuring a safe and productive environment;
- Microsoft 365 Integration » Manage identity components across Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, enabling secure and seamless collaboration;
- Access Control & Role Management » Configure and maintain access permissions, user roles, and security settings within Azure AD;
- Expert Support & Troubleshooting » Provide advanced support for escalated identity and access issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption;
- Licensing & Subscription Compliance » Ensure alignment with licensing models and subscription plans for identity-related services;
- Identity Lifecycle Collaboration » Partner with cross-functional teams to manage the full identity lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding;
- Security Monitoring & Best Practices » Monitor for potential security incidents and enforce identity security best practices across the organization.
The Workplace Engineer will be:
Policy Implementation & Maintenance:
- Deploy IAM (Identity and Access Management) and MDM (Mobile Device Management) policies crafted by leadership;
- Configure systems in line with organizational security standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA);
- Adapt policies based on audit findings or regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
User Lifecycle Management:
- Execute provisioning and de-provisioning for onboarding, role transitions, and offboarding;
- Maintain accurate records of user roles, permissions, and access levels;
- Ensure timely and precise handling of access requests to support operational continuity.
Security & Compliance:
- Enforce robust security protocols across IAM and MDM platforms to protect sensitive data;
- Perform regular security checks and support audit processes to meet internal and external compliance standards;
- Apply critical security patches and updates promptly to mitigate risks.
System Integration & Maintenance:
- Integrate IAM/MDM systems with enterprise platforms like Microsoft 365, HR systems, and cloud services;
- Support configuration and ongoing management to ensure seamless interoperability;
- Monitor system health and assist with troubleshooting to minimize downtime during upgrades or changes.
End-User Training & Support:
- Provide technical assistance to users and IT teams, resolving access and configuration issues;
- Contribute to the creation of user guides and documentation to support training initiatives;
- Assist in delivering workshops or informal training sessions to boost user understanding and adoption.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor alerts and respond to IAM/MDM-related security incidents, including unauthorized access attempts;
- Support execution of incident response plans to ensure swift containment and resolution;
- Document incidents and resolutions to inform future improvements and best practices.
Vendor Collaboration:
- Liaise with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and maintain system integrity;
- Collaborate on updates, patches, and service enhancements to keep systems current and secure;
- Provide feedback to leadership on vendor performance and report service disruptions.
What you will need to succeed
To succeed as a Workplace Engineer you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience in IT Operations;
- Certifications in CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and in CIAM (Certified Identity and Access Manager) (would be a plus);
- 5-7 years of experience working with IAM principles, methodologies, and best practices;
- +5 years of hands-zone experience with Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and related technologies;
- Solid knowledge of security protocols, including MFA and SSO;
- Familiarity with ITIL Foundation and Serice Now (would be a plus);
- Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and advancements in IAM;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.
