?? Your Role:

• Project Maestro: Spearhead the migration of our applications from Java 8 to the latest Java version, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
• Branch Manager: Create and manage new development branches:
  • resource/migration-master: For services assumed to be finished and in production.
  • feature/migration-development: For stable features ready for deployment.
  • feature/migration-: For ongoing migration features, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Dependency Strategist: Limit the addition of new dependencies to only those necessary, discussing potential additions with the team.
• Service Updater:
  • Update fhc-configs service by changing pom.xml to set version numbering to a new major version (e.g., 4.x.y).
  • Redefine dependencies in the fh-core package.
  • Maintain the connection point class with the logger service, without concrete implementation for now.
• Utility Creator: Create/adapt utility classes to invoke the REST API of the communications service for sending emails and SMS as needed.
• Package Manager: Move datasources/fh-lock service to a package branch, redefine dependencies, and compile as a package to be included in individual services.

?? What You’ll Need: 

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Java development, with a strong focus on migration projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java 8 and the latest Java version, Maven, REST APIs, and dependency management.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to new challenges.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to project management.
• Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and lead a team to success.
• Innovation: A track record of innovative solutions and continuous improvement in software development.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
