We are a dynamic and fast-growing property development company with a pipeline of over 1,800 residential units. We are seeking a Senior Architect with a strong background in affordable housing to help shape the future of our developments. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with municipalities, consultants, and internal stakeholders to drive projects from feasibility to delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Employer's Requirements

  • Lead the development and refinement of Employer's Requirements (ERs) across all projects.
  • Ensure ERs are consistently applied across design phases and remain aligned with our commercial goals.

Licensing & Urban Planning

  • Navigate and support the licensing process, acting as liaison with municipal authorities.
  • Conduct PDM (Plano Diretor Municipal) analysis, contribute to massing studies, and evaluate zoning feasibility.

Design Coordination

  • Appoint, lead, and manage external architectural and engineering consultants.
  • Ensure seamless integration of design disciplines and alignment with ERs and project budgets.

Design Optimisation

  • Champion cost-effective design solutions tailored to affordable housing needs.
  • Refine unit layouts for regulatory compliance, functional flow, and market appeal.

Design Team Management

  • Oversee contractual and invoicing processes for design consultants, maintaining financial control and ensuring timely delivery.

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Lead on the appointment and delivery of sales and marketing collateral, liaising with the in-house sales & marketing team
  • Candidate Profile

    Experience

    • 10+ years of architectural experience, with a strong experiencein affordable housing and familiarity with Portuguese urban licensing processes.

    Technical Skills

    • Advanced knowledge of construction detailing and material specification
    • Experience in value engineering and design-to-budget processes
    • Solid understanding of Portuguese planning and construction regulations
    • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and external consultants

    • Self-motivated, organised, and solutions-focused
    • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
    • Creative thinker with meticulous attention to detail and a drive to challenge convention

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Architecture and Registered member of the Portuguese Architects Association
