Your new role
As a Master Data Analyst, you will help stand up and scale a new Master Data capability in Portugal. You’ll operate as a go-to specialist for master data processes, ensuring that core records—especially Business Partner (Customer/Vendor)—are created, maintained, and governed consistently across the SAP S/4HANA landscape using SAP MDG. You’ll partner with Data Stewards and global stakeholders to resolve issues at root cause, drive adherence to policies and decision rights, and embed continuous improvement across the full data lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Create, validate, and maintain master data (with emphasis on Business Partner domains) in SAP MDG/SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy.
- Execute and refine governance workflows, approvals, and controls aligned to the organisation’s data stewardship model.
- Monitor data quality, investigate anomalies, and coordinate corrective actions with business users across regions and affiliates.
- Document changes and procedures to agreed standards, keeping audit trails and knowledge artefacts current.
- Collaborate with global MDM/GBS teams to harmonise processes, improve customer satisfaction, and share best practices.
- Support Global Data Owners with inputs on data strategy, prioritisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate risks and issues promptly, providing clear impact assessment and proposed remediation steps.
- Contribute to training materials and self-service guidance to uplift data literacy and first-time-right execution.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience in Master Data Management within a large/global company.
- Strong proficiency in SAP MDG and SAP S/4HANA, particularly for Business Partner (Customer/Vendor) master data.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance principles, decision rights, and quality KPIs.
- Fluent English; comfortable working with multiple countries/geographies.
- Exposure to finance processes is a plus.
- Prior experience in a GBS/Shared Services environment is advantageous.
