A senior sustainability job leading BREEAM / LEED / Low Carbon Construction delivery on flagship European projects with a Tier 1 Main Contractor.

We are recruiting for a Project Sustainability Lead on behalf of a leading European Tier 1 Main Contractor delivering large-scale data centre and advanced manufacturing programmes in Portugal. This Project Sustainability Lead job is the technical authority on sustainability across multiple live projects, supporting the Sines sites from a Lisbon base.

The Role

The Project Sustainability Lead will be the subject matter expert on assigned construction projects - driving BREEAM, LEED and Low Carbon Construction outcomes, mentoring project teams, and aligning delivery with the company's "Build Beyond" sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Act as sustainability SME for assigned projects, providing technical advice to project teams

Lead and support BREEAM / LEED assessments and certification processes end-to-end

Manage compliance and certification trackers - robust, auditable evidence trails

Engage clients, consultants and supply chain on certification progress and risk

Write and review Construction Environmental Management Plans and pollution incident response plans

Support the Head of ESG with strategy delivery and EMS development

What You'll Bring

Degree in environmental, social or governance discipline

3+ years' sustainability experience in built environment / construction

Hands-on BREEAM / LEED / WELL evidence preparation - leadership of certifications a strong plus

Portuguese language ESSENTIAL - must have prior experience working in Portugal

Member of IEMA / IES (or similar); BREEAM AP / LEED AP highly desirable

What's on Offer

Salary: €60,000 - €75,000

Location: Lisbon, supporting Sines sites - 5 days on site (no remote)

Food allowance €8/working day (paid 11 months/year)
