Own the technical direction and quality of the Public Cloud platform, setting engineering standards across the team.

Lead end-to-end delivery of complex cloud infrastructure projects, from scoping and design through to production.

Description

• Lead and deliver complex, multi-team infrastructure projects from inception to production, owning timelines, risks, and technical quality;
• Define and enforce engineering standards for IaC, testing, CI/CD, and security across the team;
• Design, build, and maintain custom platform tooling in Go (including custom Terraform providers, internal CLIs, and test frameworks);
• Write and review Terraform, Go, and Python code at an advanced level;
• Own BDD translation into features and enforce test coverage standards (unit, integration, end to-end);
• Drive quarterly planning: align technical milestones with business goals, manage dependencies across squads;
• Lead technical discussions with stakeholders, including architecture reviews, RFP evaluations, and feasibility studies;
• Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers, conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance;
• Contribute to and evolve the Cloud Technical Community across the group;
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture decision records (ADRs), and runbooks.

Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar;
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or principal role;
• Demonstrated experience leading projects: planning, coordinating squads, managing delivery risk, and reporting to senior stakeholders;
• Expert mastery of Microsoft Azure (hybrid networking, AKS, advanced PaaS, security, governance, landing zones);
• Advanced Go (Golang) development: custom Terraform providers, internal tooling, test frameworks;
• Advanced Terraform at enterprise scale: shared module libraries, state management, custom providers, policy-as-code;
• Strong Python scripting for automation and data processing;
• Mastery of complex CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions): multi-environment strategies, matrix builds, environment gating, automated testing;
• Deep expertise in BDD and test automation: unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies;
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, IAM, compliance frameworks, and governance in large-scale cloud deployments;
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes (AKS), Docker Enterprise, Helm;
• Familiarity with infrastructure security scanning tools (e.g., Checkov, Defender for Cloud);
• Fluent spoken and written English.
