Join a specialist technology team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and observability of critical enterprise platforms. In this role, you will take ownership of messaging and log management technologies that support high-volume distributed systems, helping to maintain service resilience, operational visibility, and seamless communication across complex application landscapes.

Location Greater Lisbon Area (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office)

Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the Technology and Digital Services sector, supporting large-scale enterprise environments through modern integration, observability, and platform engineering solutions. As part of a highly skilled operations team, you will play a key role in the administration and optimisation of messaging and monitoring platforms that underpin business-critical services.

Responsibilities

• Administer and operate enterprise messaging platforms, ensuring reliable message delivery and system stability.
• Manage and monitor messaging clusters to guarantee high availability, resilience, and optimal performance.
• Administer and maintain observability and log management platforms, supporting monitoring and operational visibility requirements.
• Configure and manage log and event ingestion pipelines to ensure effective data collection and analysis.
• Monitor logs, metrics, and platform events to proactively identify anomalies and operational issues.
• Perform incident investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution activities within complex production environments (L2/L3 support).
• Optimise platform performance through tuning, capacity management, retention strategies, and throughput improvements.
• Support integrations with applications, APIs, and other enterprise middleware technologies.
• Participate in platform upgrades, patching activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure service reliability and operational excellence.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
• Contribute to best practices in monitoring, messaging architecture, and platform operations.

Required Skills

• 5 years of experience working with middleware, messaging, observability, or platform operations environments.
• Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting RabbitMQ environments.
• Proven experience working with Elastic Stack, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience analysing logs, diagnosing issues, and troubleshooting production environments.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies, integration patterns, and communication protocols.
• Experience working within Linux environments and using system administration or monitoring tools.
• Exposure to containerised environments and orchestration platforms; Kubernetes knowledge is highly valued.
• Ability to support business-critical platforms operating at scale and under high transaction volumes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder interaction abilities.
• Professional fluency in English.
