Our client (insurance) is a prestigious Multinational Insurance Company that is strengthening their Reserving Non-Life Actuarial team.The role involves contributing to strategic decisions and team development within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Description
As a Non-Life Reserving Actuary, you will:
- Provide actuarial services with minimal supervision of a more experienced actuary to fulfil routine business requirements and to solve problems with a low to moderate level of complexity / diversity;
- Prepare and conduct actuarial analyses, including loss projections, technical reserves calculations for both gross and reinsurance layers;
- Develop and automate the reserving and financial reporting processes, managing the flow and quality of relevant actuarial data to ensure robust output;
- Ensure that processes and standards align with internal actuarial policies and guidelines, as well as existing regulations;
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of the balance sheet and profit and loss statements;
- Provide insights into underlying performance and business implications to Finance, other business functions, and Reserving Actuaries, promoting cross-functional sharing of information and collaboration;
- Assist in the development of risk-based capital models as well as parameterization and allocation activities to support actuarial services;
- Research best actuarial practice and review/analyze current practice area to support senior management in developing and improving processes and systems.
Profile
Qualifications and required profile:
Required
- Master's degree in Actuarial Sciences and 4 or more years of relevant experience in related field;
- Experience in Reserving both IFRS17 and Solvency 2;
- Strong background in reserving methods and experience with reserving tool ResQ;
- Fluent in English and Portuguese is a requirement spoken and written;
- A Team player with enthusiasm, proactive, curiosity, and a positive attitude;
- Used to deal with deadlines, work under pressure and manage workload seasonality.
Nice to have
- Willingness to pursue an actuarial qualification or being partly qualified as an actuary;
- Strong data management and programming skills (e.g. R, SQL, SAS and Python);
- Experience in other functional areas (pricing, reserving, reinsurance, capital management, etc);
- Experience in implementation projects.
