Our client is currently seeking a Medical Science Liaison to join their team in the pulmonary area. This professional will have a direct reporting line to the Portugal Country Director and a dotted line to the Medical Director - Medical Affairs.
Description
* Establish and foster professional collaborations with the healthcare community;
* Develop and/or implement unbiased and non-promotional scientific exchange meetings and educational activities;
* Provide scientific and educational presentations to HCPs regarding company products (both on-label and off-label indications), compounds in development, and disease area management, including single-product presentations when relevant;
* Generate and share insight from HCPs to nurture the company's strategy;
* Collect, analyse, and report actionable scientific insight from HCPs related to disease state, unmet medical needs, local guidelines, therapeutic trends, competitive activities, compounds in development and the broader healthcare environment;
* If appropriate, organise or support Advisory Boards at regional level (in-country);
* Support for clinical development & Investigator Initiated Trials (data generation);
* Ensure internal cross-functional collaborations as a scientific partner;
* Support Market Access by responding to requests for hospital formulary submissions and, when required, presenting scientific data on company products and delivering scientific presentations on the disease area and the product;
* Support Regulatory by responding to requests for dossier or material preparation and by contributing to pharmacovigilance activities;
* Support Healthcare Compliance by ensuring all local activities and materials are aligned with applicable local codes.
Profile
- Biomedical or Scientific university education, ideally to post-graduate degree level (e.g. MSc, PhD, MD, PharmD);
- Medical/Paramedical Practice or Research career (hospital and/or hospital related, university research, pharmaceutical industry research or medical affairs);
- Preferably at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry;
- Proven experience and successful track record as an MSL or medical department professional in a previous company;
- Ideally, experience in one or more therapeutic areas relevant to the company's portfolio;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (proficiency in other languages is a plus).
