POSITION SUMMARY

 

Primary Objectives To provide all our Guests and Associates with a comfortable, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment by protecting our company assets through cost conscious, superior maintenance processes and dedication to continuous improvement. Scope The Shift Technician’s – Duty Engineer’s role is mainly focused toward Front of House and Services directly affecting the Guest and Back of House support. He is expected to actively assist and support the other Engineers at all times. The Shift Technician – Duty Engineer will be Service Orientated and flexible enough to support both the Guest and in-house staff needs alike. He is fluent in Italian and good in English.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Maintain proper and safe condition of all Plant, Plant Rooms, Equipment and Work areas. 2. Comply with all Fire, Life, Health and Safety Standards. 3. To be conversant with the Hotel Emergency Procedures. 4. Perform Emergency Response Team duties as required. 5. Personal presentation will be clean, neat and tidy at all times. 6. Be courteous, professional and service orientated when dealing with Guest, Patrons and Fellow Staff Members. 7. Assist Guests, Patrons and Fellow Staff Members as and when appropriate. 8. Undertake specific duties and projects when assigned. 9. Activity support Training Programs. 10. To carry out work in accordance with Hotel Planned Maintenance Program. 11. Familiarize himself with the technical details of all Plant and Services relating to the Hotel. 12. Work shifts (cyclical am-pm-night and cyclical holidays) as designated. 13. Maintain, Repair, Check and Record equipment such as (but not limited to): - Guest Facilities - Plant rooms - Air Conditioning Equipment - Refrigeration Equipment - Heating Plant - Kitchen Equipment - Filters (air & water) - Ventilation Systems - Motors & Pumps - Plumbing & Hydraulics - Banqueting Equipment - Fire & Safety - Mechanical Services - Furniture, Fittings & General Equipment 14. Actively support and assist Engineering Team. 15. Ensure all Mechanical-Electrical work is carried out in accordance with local regulations. 16. Submit reports-checklist and assessments as required. 

 

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Adhere to quality expectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Enter and locate work-related information using computers. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
