Your New Company
Our client is a well-established multinational operating in the industrial sector, known for its dynamic and international working environment.

Your New Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Strategic Legal Support: Providing legal advice that reflects ethical business values and supports both local and global projects. Turning business needs into clear legal solutions and contributing to responsible documentation.
  • Technology, Privacy & Risk Management: Promoting strong privacy and cybersecurity practices. Identifying risks in areas such as AI, third-party relationships, and compliance, and helping resolve them when needed.
  • Contracting & Procurement Collaboration: Working with Procurement to create secure and efficient contract models, supporting negotiations, and helping teams plan resources effectively. Reviewing templates to improve cost control.
  • Stakeholder & Authority Engagement: Managing communication with internal teams, suppliers, and authorities, especially during audits or inspections, under legal supervision.
  • Compliance Oversight & Reporting: Leading compliance reporting, including self-assessments and sustainability updates. Monitoring approval processes and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Due Diligence & Ethics Monitoring: Carrying out checks on third parties, tracking indicators like gifts and sponsorships, and reporting on declarations of interest.
  • Governance & Committee Coordination: Co-chairing ethics committees, organising meetings and agendas, and supporting a culture of openness and integrity.
  • Training & Legislative Awareness: Delivering legal and compliance training and keeping teams informed about new laws and regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Law degree and Master’s qualification
  • Registered with the Portuguese Bar Association (minimum 5 years of practice)
  • 7+ years of experience in legal roles, ideally in large or international organisations
  • 3+ years working in compliance, especially in EU privacy, third-party risk, and sanctions
  • Experience in legal negotiation and supporting procurement
  • Comfortable working with international teams and outsourced services
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-focused
  • Fluent in Portuguese and advanced English (C1 level)
