Your New Role 
As a Legal Counsel, reporting directly to the General Manager in Portugal, you will be responsible for:

Legal Advice

• Analysing laws, rulings, contracts, and regulations to address legal concerns and safeguard the company's interests.
• Providing accurate and timely counsel on a variety of legal topics, including labour law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, and NDAs.
• Drafting and solidifying agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
• Reviewing the legality of transactions, contracts, agreements, and joint ventures.
• Offering legal support for new projects.
• Keeping abreast of changes in laws and regulations.

Policies & Governance

• Specifying internal governance policies and regularly monitoring compliance.
• Developing and implementing legal policies and procedures.
• Conducting periodic compliance assessments.
• Creating reports and managing legal documentation.

Risk Assessment

• Researching and evaluating various risk factors related to business decisions and operations.
• Applying effective risk management techniques and providing proactive advice on potential legal issues.

Cross-Communication

• Communicating and negotiating with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authorities, etc.), fostering relationships of trust.
• Collaborating with other departments to address legal issues.
• Clarifying legal language or specifications for everyone in the organisation.
• Providing training and guidance to staff on legal matters.
• Coordinating with external lawyers to assess legal issues.

What You'll Need to Succeed 
The ideal candidate shall have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Law.
• Approximately 3 to 5 years of proven experience post-Bar Association exam.
• Mandatory experience in Corporate Law, Labour Law, and Civil Law.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
