ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled and business-oriented Senior Legal Counsel to join a multinational company which operates in telecommunications sector, in Lisbon. This position is ideal for a legal professional with a solid common law background, a proven track record in negotiating complex international contracts, and a strong interest in technology and innovation.

 

You will play a critical role in supporting our global operations, with a focus on international commercial negotiations, navigating the telecommunications regulatory landscape, and driving corporate compliance initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex international commercial agreements, including SaaS agreement, reseller and distribution agreements, licensing and partnership contracts;
• Provide strategic legal advice to business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions;
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including Anti-corruption laws, data privacy regulations, telecommunications regulations (a plus);
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Procurement, Compliance, and Product;
• Support internal compliance programs;
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business;
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple priorities with agility.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction (mandatory);
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong focus on international commercial contracts;
• Solid understanding of compliance frameworks, including anti-bribery and privacy laws;
• Experience with telecom regulatory matters (plus)
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills in English (mandatory);
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, multicultural environment;
• Strong interest in technology and innovation.
