Your new company 

• Opportunity to join a growing legal & compliance function within the investment management sector.
• Position as Legal & Compliance Officer, supporting legal, regulatory, and governance activities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Your new role

• Conduct AML/KYC reviews and oversee onboarding processes for investors, clients, and counterparties.
• Prepare and maintain KYC files for internal investment vehicles.
• Coordinate and supervise internal and external audits in Compliance, AML, and Data Protection.
• Ensure adherence to GDPR and data protection rules, including policy updates and risk assessments.
• Oversee risk management activities and support the preparation of periodic compliance and risk reports.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents (e.g., NDAs, service agreements).
• Support corporate governance, including board materials and statutory filings.
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance on corporate, commercial, and investment management matters.
• Act as a key contact for relevant regulatory authorities, managing communications and submissions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Law degree and 6+ years of professional experience, ideally within financial services or investment management.
• Strong knowledge of: 
  • AML and KYC regulations
  • Data protection/GDPR
  • MiFID II requirements
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is an advantage.
• Soft skills essential for the role:

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Solid experience in legal and compliance work within investment funds, banks, or similar regulated environments.
• Confidence in interacting with supervisory bodies and handling regulatory matters with accuracy and discretion.
• Motivation to operate autonomously as the sole legal & compliance representative in the Lisbon office, while aligned with the wider international legal team.
