Your new role:
As a Junior Oracle DBA, you will support the stability, performance, and optimisation of the organisation’s database landscape. Working closely with experienced technical teams, you will participate in the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle environments, contributing to secure, efficient, and high-availability platforms.
You will collaborate with cross-functional professionals to resolve incidents, implement improvements, and reinforce database reliability across the business. This role will enable you to deepen your technical expertise and gain hands-on experience with modern Oracle ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the administration and monitoring of Oracle databases across on-premises and cloud environment.
Support backup and recovery operations using RMAN, ensuring data integrity and system resilience.
Participate in the configuration and maintenance of Oracle RAC and ASM environments.
Contribute to the installation, setup, and ongoing management of Oracle Cloud Control.
Troubleshoot database issues, analyse root causes, and propose optimisations.
Collaborate with senior DBAs and technical teams to improve database performance and availability.
Document procedures, configurations, and operational activities to support continuous service quality.
Support database-related initiatives in alignment with IT best practices.
What you’ll need to succeed:
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Around 2 years of experience in Oracle DBA activities.
• 1 year of hands-on experience with RMAN.
• 1 year of practical experience with Oracle RAC and ASM.
• Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL (approx. 1 year).
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Control installation and administration.
• Understanding of Oracle-related technologies, including OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• Oracle certifications in database administration, tuning, installation, architecture, development, or security (valued).
