A Adecco Recruitment is recruiting a Junior Accountant with international reporting, working in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to general ledger accounting (journal entries, month-end accruals, account reconciliations, account analysis, support schedules, etc.);
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings;
- Prepare Bank recs and help with Cash reporting, liaising with multiple different departments;
- Downloading of system reports, and subsequent creation of useable accounting documentation as part of year end processes;
- Maintain a wide variety of financial information, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies;
- You will respond to inquiries from a wide variety of sources (e.g. employees, vendors, auditors, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating communication and/or providing guidance among several parties;
- Review and process travel expenses across numerous business functions;
- You will support the Accounting team in the preparation and reconciliation of payroll reporting;
- Support accounts payable with resolving queries, completing AP confirmation letters and reconciling the subledger on a monthly basis;
- Assists in reviewing financial information for the purpose of identifying issues;
- Assist in preparation of quarterly and yearly audit documentation;
- Assist with intercompany postings, research, and communications;
- Perform administrative functions (mail processing, file maintenance, etc.) as assigned;
- Support special projects as required and directed by the supervisor of the Finance Department.
Profile
- English C1 level (interview will be conducted in English);
- Currently pursuing a professional or university-level course in Accounting (completion of a degree is not mandatory);
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in the role (we also welcome candidates without formal education in the field but with over 4 years of experience in similar functions);
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools;
- Strong organizational and planning skills, methodical, critical thinking, and ability to multitask;
- Humble, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a team environment;
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 software is a plus.
