Your New Role
As an
Infrastructure Specialist, you will manage and maintain the organisation's IT
infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You will
be responsible for both on-premise and cloud (Azure) environments, working
closely with external service providers to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain
Nutanix and VMware hypervisors for optimal performance.
- Oversee Windows server
environments, including Active Directory and Exchange.
- Administer Azure cloud
services and related components.
- Manage backup solutions
using Veeam to ensure data integrity.
- Administer Aruba network
infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Configure and manage
FortiGate and Checkpoint firewalls for robust network security.
- Design and maintain F5
load balancers to optimise application delivery.
- Monitor network
performance and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
- Identify and mitigate
risks to IT systems availability, implementing preventive measures.
- Implement and enforce
security policies to protect IT assets.
- Participate in IT
projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Act as the primary
technical liaison with external service providers.
- Lead problem-solving
efforts to address recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
- Manage changes to IT
services, ensuring smooth implementation without service disruption.
- Create and maintain
detailed documentation for system and network configurations.
- Ensure timely updates,
patches, and upgrades to all systems.
- Log, track, and manage
incidents and service requests using an ITSM tool.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in IT systems
and network administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft
Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Experience with VMware
ESXi and Nutanix AHV hypervisors.
- Strong understanding of
network protocols and infrastructure, including switches, routers, Wi-Fi,
NAC, WAF, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Relevant certifications
(e.g., VCP, Nutanix NCP, Microsoft MCSE, Microsoft Azure Administrator,
Fortinet NSE) are highly desirable.
- Certifications in IT
service management (e.g., ITIL Foundation, ITIL Practitioner) are
required.
- Experience with disaster
recovery solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving
skills to address complex IT incidents.
- Strong written and verbal
communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and team members.
- Customer-centric mindset
with a focus on delivering high-quality services.
- Experience using ITSM
tools like Manage Engine to manage service tickets.
- Ability to identify
opportunities for enhancement and implement best practices.
- Excellent teamwork skills
and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in English.
