Group Parent Company Accountant overseas the intercompany eliminations, manages acquisitions, and controls the balance sheets of the holding companies.

Description

Key Responsibilities:


  • Intercompany Eliminations:

  • - Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of intercompany accounts.

    - Collaborate with regional finance teams to resolve discrepancies.


  • Acquisitions and Disposals:

  • - Prepare detailed financial analysis in respect of the impact of acquisitions / disposals, shareholder contributions and other movements in respect of equity.

    - Monitor and report on the financial performance of newly acquired companies.

    - To own and understand the accounting treatment of all "owner" transactions, such as dividends, shareholder contributions, new issues as well as divestment and acquisitions, including accounting for additional purchase prices.

    - Monitor the value of shares in subsidiaries and consider the potential impairment impact from transactions.


  • Income Statement and Balance Sheet Control:

  • - Oversee the integrity of the balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate policies.

    - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

    - Ensure all postings to equity are made correctly and fully reconciled monthly

    - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

    - Conduct variance analysis and resolve any issues related to account balances.


  • Process Control:

  • - Develop and implement efficient financial processes and controls.

    - Ensure all accounting entries in the parent company are made correctly and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

    - Enhance reporting procedures for better visibility into financial performance.

    - Own the internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.


  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • - Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial matters, most importantly the Group Consolidation Team


  • Tax:

  • - Ensure all tax balances are appropriately recognized monthly

    Profile

    • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent accounting qualification
    • 5-7 years of experience in accounting
    • Deep and broad understanding of accounting incl. VAT regulations
    • Advanced knowledge of MS office tools (MS Outlook and Excel)
    • SAP Experience
    • Mindset for process improvements
    • Language skills: fluent in English and one additional European language (preferably Swedish, French, Italian, Spanish)
    • Communication skills and a cooperative mindset
    • High level of accountability and accuracy
    • Team player with a good sense for different company/ country cultures
