Responsible for all core finance activities, including accounting, reporting, planning, and analysis for two legal entities, this role is embedded in the local management team in Portugal.

Description

• Act as the main financial reference for the Portuguese business and oversee financial activities for the German entity
• Own the controlling cycle, including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for both entities
• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure timely, accurate reporting to the Group
• Coordinate and lead month end close processes, ensuring consistency with Group standards
• Ensure strong financial control, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets
• Take responsibility for cash flow management, analysis, and forecasting
• Approve payments, manage banking activities, and oversee payroll approval processes
• Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory requirements, working with external advisors where applicable
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and standardisation of financial controls, reporting, and processes across the Group
• Manage and coordinate local finance resources and external service providers
• Support finance systems optimisation, particularly around Sage X3 reporting and processes, working closely with IT
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision making

Profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Management
• Certified accountant in Portugal
• Around 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in an international environment
• Strong knowledge of controlling, reporting, accounting, budget, and forecast processes
• Solid IT and systems awareness, comfortable working with finance systems
• Experience with Sage X3 is an advantage
• Able to work with limited supervision and meet tight deadlines
• Hands on, detail oriented, but able to take a broader and more strategic view when needed
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
• German language skills are an advantage
