We are seeking an experienced European Payroll Team Lead to oversee multi-country payroll operations within an international Shared Services environment, ensuring compliance, accuracy and operational excellence across Europe. The role combines team leadership, stakeholder management and payroll transformation initiatives to drive continuous improvement and standardisation.

Reporting to the HR Shared Services leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a team of payroll specialists supporting multiple European countries;
- Ensuring accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing across all assigned markets;
- Acting as the main escalation point for complex payroll-related matters;
- Driving payroll standardisation, process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Partnering closely with HR, Finance and Legal stakeholders across Europe;
- Managing relationships with external payroll providers and ensuring service quality;
- Ensuring compliance with local labour legislation, payroll regulations and internal audit requirements;
- Supporting payroll governance, controls and reporting activities;
- Contributing to HR transformation, automation and digitisation initiatives within the Shared Services Centre.
Profile
- 7+ years' professional experience in Payroll, including at least 3 years in a leadership or Team Lead capacity;
- Proven experience managing payroll operations across multiple European countries;
- Previous experience within a Shared Service Centre or multinational corporate environment;
- Strong understanding of European payroll compliance, labour law and taxation requirements;
- Experience with payroll platforms such as SAP HCM, Workday, ADP, SD Worx, Sage or equivalent systems;
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop payroll professionals;
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in an international environment;
- Process-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail;
- Comfortable operating within a matrix organisation and managing multiple priorities;
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Additional European languages will be considered an advantage.
