We are looking for a Deputy Head of Infrastructure

to lead and coordinate the companys IT infrastructure and operations department.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for ensuring the availability, security, and resilience of technological infrastructure, while aligning IT capabilities with business needs and operational objectives.

You will oversee technical teams, manage technology projects and external providers, and ensure the continuous improvement of IT services, infrastructure, and business continuity processes.

 

Location Lisbon, Portugal On-site

Contract direct hire with the client.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategy and evolution of the IT infrastructure, covering Systems, Networks, Telecommunications, and Security.
• Ensure the availability, security, performance, and maintenance of the organizations technology infrastructure.
• Lead the IT department by setting priorities, responsibilities, and objectives, while ensuring effective resource allocation and team performance.
• Plan and oversee technology projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Promote the continuous improvement of IT services by identifying opportunities to optimize and modernize infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and ensure the implementation of measures that support operational stability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry best practices for infrastructure management.
• Manage technology vendors and external partners, overseeing contracts, service levels, and delivery quality.
• Drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, security, and overall business productivity.
• Prepare management reports on departmental performance, ongoing projects, key challenges, and investment needs.
• Support senior management in decision-making related to technology, infrastructure, and IT operations.

What Were Looking For

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Solid experience in managing IT Systems, Networks, Telecommunications, and Infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading and managing technical teams.
• Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of infrastructure architectures, technology services, and operational best practices.
• Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Spanish.
• Experience in technology transformation projects, infrastructure modernization initiatives, or cloud migration programs.
