Role Overview

The Data Migration Functional Lead will be responsible for managing data migration activities for the assigned stream and its related data objects. This role ensures alignment with global template data definitions and migration factory processes, while collaborating with business SMEs and project rollout teams to deliver high-quality data migration outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the assigned stream and associated data objects throughout the migration lifecycle.

• Explain data requirements to business teams and guide mapping discussions.

• Align with global template standards and rollout functional teams on data requirements.

• Define and implement data quality controls, including error identification and resolution.

• Secure updated documentation for data mapping and migration processes.

• Coordinate testing, validations, and cutover activities for data migration.

• Act as the primary liaison for stream-specific migration activities, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.

Qualifications

o Minimum 7+ years of SAP functional experience in the assigned stream (e.g., FI/CO for R2R, SD for O2C, MM for P2P, PP/PS for P2D, EWM for warehouse).

o At least 3 full SAP implementation lifecycles with a focus on data migration.

Expertise:

o Strong business-process knowledge for the assigned stream.

o Proficiency in SAP Data Migration tools (Migration Cockpit, Syniti, LSWM, SAP Data Services).

o Hands-on experience in data analysis, data conversion, object and field level mapping, and cutover planning.

o SQL query skills and understanding of relational database structures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks (e.g. Syniti One)

• Familiarity with integrated data migration design and factory-based delivery models.
