We're supporting the creation of a brand-new tech hub in Lisbon for an
international cloud services company.This is a North American-rooted project with a startup-like mindset, a collaborative environment, and the opportunity to grow something meaningful from the ground up.
We’re already starting to support this move, and positions are opening. This time, we’re looking for an experienced Cloud/VMware Infrastructure Engineer to be part of this project before it has even started.
What you'll be doing:- Maintain and help develop multiple cloud environments for internal infrastructure and customers, covering compute, storage, virtual networking, hypervisors, backups, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
- Manage VMware-based infrastructure, including ESXi patching, troubleshooting, and vCenter maintenance.
- Maintain Windows and Linux server environments with periodic patching and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement architecture solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure proper monitoring and alerting configuration across infrastructure components.
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards, working closely with Security and Compliance teams to patch and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Provide escalation support for complex infrastructure issues and assist other engineers and architects.
- Document procedures and processes for internal use and knowledge sharing.
The profile we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, system administration, or cloud operations roles.
- Strong expertise in VMware technologies (ESXi, vCenter) and virtualization concepts.
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or vCloud Director, and optional exposure to NSX, vSAN, or Aria Suite.
- Experience with server hardware (Cisco UCS, Dell, HP) and storage arrays (Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage).
- Solid networking knowledge (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, DNS).
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux environments, including troubleshooting and patching.
- Optional: experience with backup and DR tools like Veeam or Zerto.
