Your new company
You will be joining a well-established organisation operating within the technology and IT services sector, combining hardware engineering capabilities with custom software development. With over two decades of market presence, the company delivers tailored solutions across demanding industries, including aviation and logistics. It also develops proprietary products, particularly in warehouse management systems, supporting a diverse client base that ranges from multinational logistics operators to pharmaceutical companies. Your new role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and strengthening the company’s commercial presence. Your primary focus will be on initiating contact with prospective clients and generating qualified leads, enabling the pre-sales team to further develop and close opportunities.
You will engage with organisations within logistics and related sectors, positioning innovative software solutions and identifying where they can add value. Whilst the role is mainly centred on early-stage engagement, there is flexibility to follow opportunities through the full sales cycle depending on your profile and ambitions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and approach potential clients within target industries, particularly logistics and supply chain
- Generate new business opportunities and build a consistent pipeline of prospects
- Arrange meetings and open doors for pre-sales and technical teams
- Present and position software solutions in a compelling and consultative manner
- Represent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, and networking initiatives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align commercial strategies and messaging
- Support the company’s transition towards a subscription-based (SaaS) model
- Contribute to expansion efforts across the national market, with future exposure to international growth
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in business development, sales, or a client-facing role (technical or non-technical backgrounds considered)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers
- Proactive mindset with a natural drive to identify and pursue opportunities
- Interest in technology, particularly software solutions for operations or logistics
- Ability to work autonomously within a flexible and dynamic structure
- Comfortable attending events and representing the company externally
- English is not essential but willingness to learn is valued (training support provided).
