The company you're going to work at: 

Shared Services Centre based in Lisbon is looking for a Certified Accountant. 

 
 Your new role:

The European Accounting Organization leads all aspects of the financial reporting of the company in Europe, including statutory reporting, monthly reporting, and year-end reporting. 

You´ll manage local tax reporting and to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial reporting. You will be reporting to the International Accounting Director and you also will be responsible for all close activities, fulfilling statutory and legal requirements and in various ad-hoc analysis for Portugal. You will be a Shared Services departments partner by analyzing monthly figures, reviewing postings with a critical attitude and reviewing the closing balances. 

 

Responsibilities / Tasks:

Run month and yearend closing process for Portugal;

Execution of accounting reviews;

Review of balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the shared services team;

Support activities in accounting tasks (tax payments, payroll accounting, approval Travel & Expenses Report);

Support business needs in new projects or legal requirements;

Partner with manager and support other European colleagues;

Complete and file monthly VAT declarations; 

Prepare monthly Taxes Declarations (VAT Recapitulative Declaration, Income Pay to Non-Residents, Report to Bank of Portugal, SAFT Billing Report & Withholding Taxes);

Preparation of compliance reports for internal and external partners; 

Preparation of yearly data requirements for preparation of corporate income tax returns and transfer pricing reporting; 

Preparation of Annual Statutory Report; 

Support in monthly balance sheet and profit and loss analysis; 

Assist in ad hoc analysis and projects for Portugal and potentially Europe.

 

What you need to be successful:

Certified Accountant in Portugal;

Strong accounting and taxes knowledge (at least 5 years of shown experience);

English Fluent;

Good knowledge of SAP ERP.
