Overview
SRAM Portugal is looking to strengthen its team by hiring a Value Stream Leader to be part of a major local operational expansion by coordinating a global team to build and train a new value stream. This includes hiring and developing team members, implementing systems and processes, aligning suppliers, and collaborating with local functional leadership to meet serial production targets. As the operation stabilizes, transition into a Value Stream Leadership role with end-to-end responsibility across all processes and stakeholders.
Overall, this role is to oversee the entire flow of work for a product or product family (a value stream) - coordinating people, processes, and resources from supplier input through production to customer delivery to ensure performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Support the design and implementation of assigned value streams to maximize customer value and meet business objectives.
Plan, coordinate and monitor activities within the value streams, aligned with company targets.
Prepare and maintain weekly status reports, including progress, risks and next steps.
Create and update follow up documentation (roadmaps, trackers, reports).
Support value stream leads in prioritizing, clarifying and following up actions.
Contribute to timely decision making, supporting smooth execution and issue resolution.
Ensure clear, consistent and effective communication with teams, leadership and stakeholders.
Promote and support environment, health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Support proper use and basic monitoring of equipment condition.
Participate in guiding cross functional teams, gradually developing leadership and influencing skills.
Support the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned value streams.
Actively participate in and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in planning human resources and equipment needs related to the value streams.
Requirements
B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the bicycle or automotive industry.
Understanding of industrial organization structures, workflows and operating procedures; bicycle industry knowledge is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Fluency in Portuguese and English, written and spoken.
Hands on experience or solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, with a strong interest in continuous improvement.
Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement practical, customer focused solutions.
Results driven mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively across functions.
Emerging leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
Interest in coaching, mentoring and professional development, both for self and others.
