At Reckon.ai, we're on a mission to revolutionize retail through the power of AI and computer vision. Our technology automates store operations and delivers real-time insights, helping retailers and FMCG companies optimize performance, reduce waste, and create smarter, more e?cient stores.

We're growing fast and, to support our expansion, we're expanding our Operation team with a skilled Tech Ops Engineer to bridge the gap between our technical platform and operational teams. You will play a key role in the rollout of our smart fridge solution to new clients , ensuring software setup, configuration, and testing are correctly executed. You will also support troubleshooting efforts , helping the operations team understand, diagnose, and resolve system errors in collaboration with the software engineering team.

This role is ideal for someone with strong backend experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with hardware, APIs, and real-world data flows .

What You'll Do

• Support go-live activities with new clients from a technical perspective (software configuration, connectivity, API integrations, etc.).
• Perform and validate end-to-end software and system tests before and after deployments.
• Analyze software-related errors reported by operations and identify root causes.
• Translate technical issues into actionable insights for non-technical team members.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to escalate bugs or system issues effectively.
• Maintain clear documentation of processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
• Act as the go-to resource for software-related aspects of client onboarding.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python in production environments.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with at least one asynchronous framework (e.g., FastAPI , aiohttp , Quart , or Tornado ).
• Familiarity with WebSockets , MQTT , REST APIs , and HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2.0 protocols-bonus points if you've worked with IoT devices or message brokers (e.g., Mosquitto, EMQX, or RabbitMQ).
• Comfort with Docker-based development and deploying to cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• Experience with basic debugging/log analysis and test workflows.
• Ability to translate technical language into contexts of business/operations.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally (Ops, Engineering, Clients).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Proactive mindset, autonomy, and willingness to iterate fast.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with edge devices;
• Familiarity with computer vision pipelines or real-time image processing;
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, or Firebase;
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal tech initiatives.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or tech-driven operational environment.
