Your new company
  • Our client is an insurance company and is looking to strengthen its Group Tax team with a Tax Manager / Business Analyst (m/f/d). This role is part of a strategic change initiative with global impact.


Your new role
  • Tax Impact Analysis:
o Assess the VAT, sales tax, transactional tax, and profits tax consequences of proposed operational changes across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Europe, the US, and Bermuda.
o Model the quantitative tax impacts of different scenarios, providing _clear_ visualisations and decision-ready summaries to senior management.
o Identify and articulate tax opportunities available from future business models, as well as attendant risks.

  •  International Tax Research:
o Conduct detailed research into the VAT and sales tax regimes of relevant jurisdictions, including treatment of insurance-related services, cross-border transactions, and group recharges.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax legislation affecting transactional and profits taxes, especially as it relates to service sourcing and intra-group arrangements.
o Prepare technical memos and position papers to inform business decisions and document the group’s stance on key issues.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain / Sourcing specialists to understand the practical implications of proposed changes.
o Liaise with Legal and Procurement to ensure all relevant tax concerns are addressed in any new contracts or arrangements.
o Engage with external tax advisors and local tax authorities as necessary to clarify technical positions and ensure alignment with best practices.

  • Stakeholder Education & Communication:
o Translate complex tax concepts into _clear_, practical advice for non-tax stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
o Develop effective communication strategies to ensure relevant teams are educated on the tax consequences of op model changes.
o Prepare engaging reports and presentations for use with senior management, boards, and auditors.

  • Process Improvement & Policy Development:
o Ensure tax requirements availability of data for tax processes are addressed as part of any implementation planning, including automated data collection and analysis relevant to indirect and direct taxes.
o Assist in the development or refinement of group tax policies, especially as they pertain to sourcing, procurement, and intercompany transactions.
o Monitor the effectiveness of implemented policy changes and propose adjustments as needed.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Professional qualification in Tax or Accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA);
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in international tax, ideally within a multinational financial services group;
  • Strong expertise in VAT/GST, sales tax, and transactional taxes, with exposure to transfer pricing and corporate income tax;
  • Familiarity with tax regimes in the UK, Europe, and US; 
  • Proven experience in tax modelling and impact analysis;
  • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders across regions.
