We are searching for an System Architect!

Responsibilities:

• Assessing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of robust backup and restore strategies and infrastructure, primarily utilizing Veeam, VMware vCenter, and NetApp technologies.
• Deep understanding of data protection best practices, disaster recovery principles, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• The System Architect will work closely with the project team, client stakeholders, and potentially end-users to ensure the successful delivery of a reliable and efficient backup and restore environment
• Conduct thorough assessments of existing backup and restore infrastructure and processes, identifying pain points, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Analyze client requirements for data protection, recovery time objectives (RTOs), and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
• Evaluate the current Veeam, vCenter, and NetApp environments to understand their configuration, performance, and limitations.
• Assess hardware compatibility and application dependencies related to backup and restore strategies (e.g., for OS migrations).
• Design and architect comprehensive backup and restore solutions leveraging Veeam Backup & Replication, VMware vCenter integration, and NetApp storage capabilities.
• Define backup strategies, retention policies, scheduling, and storage requirements based on client needs and best practices.
• Develop standard backup images and deployment strategies for various environments (e.g., lab, corporate).
• Create detailed technical design documents, including architecture diagrams, configuration specifications, and implementation plans.
• Provide guidance and oversight during the implementation and configuration of Veeam infrastructure components (Backup Server, Proxies, Repositories).
• Assist with the integration of Veeam with vCenter and NetApp storage systems.
• Contribute to the creation of deployment runbooks and fallback plans.
• Participate in the deployment and validation (SIT/UAT) of backup solutions.
• Define testing scenarios for backup and restore processes, including RTO/RPO validation.
• Support the execution of backup and restore tests, identifying and resolving any issues.
• Contribute to the creation of "how-to-guides" for end-users related to backup and restore processes.
• Provide support during hypercare periods and address ad-hoc issues related to backup and restore.

Requirements:

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a System Architect or similar role with a strong focus on backup and restore solutions.
• Deep technical expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication, including architecture, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere/vCenter architecture and integration with backup solutions.
• Solid experience with NetApp storage systems, including configuration, management, and integration with backup solutions (e.g., SnapMirror, SnapVault).
• Excellent understanding of backup and restore principles, methodologies, and technologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and application backup requirements.
• Experience in creating technical documentation (design documents, implementation plans, runbooks).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA .
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation of backup and restore tasks.
