Ferring is opening an IT Center of Excellence (CoE) in Lisbon, Portugal, from where a new global ERP platform will be operated while supporting the expansion of the current Laboratory Management System (LIMS-Labware) globally.



Your New Role


You will be responsible for the successful design and development of technical objects such as interfaces, integrations, APIs, data conversions, or workflows following the Ferring standards and Agile Methodology. Under the supervision of the architects, you will also directly work with users and peer analysts/developers to gather and write user requirements, work on the integration design, document the interfaces, and assist testers with the preparation and execution of test scripts. Beside active involved in projects, perform support and maintenance activities, and role will participate in the evolution of the Biztalk platform. A significant level of autonomy and ability to deal with a complex, changing environment and multiple actors is required. In this role the highest quality for deliveries and documentation is also expected.



As System Analyst for System Integration you will analyse business needs and functional requirements, write and review design and technical specifications and develop software modules according to specifications, following coding and architecture standard, and carry out code review and unit testing to ensure quality, consistency and maintainability of developments.

It is also your responsibility to provide application support and maintenance according to service level agreements and internal IT standards, pro-actively perform environment reviews and identification of potential future problems, and provide recommendations on architecture and improvements of the platform, plan, perform and co-ordinate change, problem and incident request handling from an ITIL perspective and with IT guidance, ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with security and quality aspects described in related standard operating procedures.




What you’ll need to succeed


We are looking for a talented individual with University degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT background and 5+ years’ experience covering the following areas:

• Enterprise application integration, ETLs and middleware (preferably MS BizTalk, Informatica PowerCentre, IPSwitch MoveIt, SAP CPI)

• Software analysis and development (ASP.Net, C#, SQL)

• Databases development and support (SQL Server, Oracle Db)

• Infrastructure and network

• System support and system management

You need to have experience with pharmaceutical GxP compliance requirements (and in particular 21CFRpart 11) and GAMP Knowledge a plus. You also need a good understanding of business processes within the pharmaceutical industry in relation to the relevant class of systems used and the benefit for the business area.

Finally, you need excellent communication skills and very capable of building & keeping good working relation with end users, understanding their needs and finding solutions supporting their requirements. The position requires an open minded, highly analytical, independent and well-structured person, and you must have a good resistance to stress and to know how to manage priorities. Good communication skills (written and spoken) in English is essential.
