SENIOR DATA ENGINEER (Hybrid/Porto)

What will you do?

• Tech Lead Act as the main technical point of contact for the Product Owner, managing technical design, mentoring, and technical debt.
• Data Pipelines Build batch and real-time ingestion and processing pipelines using Databricks (PySpark) and DBT.
• Data Storage & Management Design optimized schemas, ensure data quality, and drive storage efficiency.
• Collaboration Work closely with analysts and data scientists to support analytics and machine learning.
• Security Implement access controls and ensure compliance with Azure best practices.
• Infrastructure Configure and optimize Azure solutions, including Data Factory and Data Lake.
• Documentation Develop knowledge bases and onboard new team members.
• Continuous Improvement Propose optimizations and innovations for workflows and tools.

What do you need to succeed?

• Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, education, social sciences, or related fields required with two or more years of relevant work experience. Masters degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in Data Engineering within large organizations.
• Expertise in Python, advanced SQL, data modeling, ETL, and Big Data processing.
• Proficiency in Azure Cloud and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of data security and performance optimization.
• Interpersonal skills leadership, empathy, communication, and adaptability.
