Your New Role
As a Solution Architect for S4 QM, you will be the primary point of contact for business support. Your responsibilities will include creating, optimising, and enhancing interfaces, as well as resolving any issues that arise. You will work closely with stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions that connect IT systems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions with the support of a strong IT team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the SAPEX solution for your stream is designed and built according to approved requirements, utilising the latest technology and best practices.
- Maintain the integrity of the Global Template, ensuring it is not compromised by new configurations or developments.
- Collect, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
- Validate technical solutions proposed by the regional solution team against business requirements.
- Monitor template change requests and prepare for Change Control Board meetings to facilitate the approval process with solution proposals.
- Review and approve Functional Design Documents and oversee the template development process.
- Provide template process playback for business users.
- Ensure solutions are designed and built according to approved scope during implementation projects.
- Mentor and lead a team of Functional Consultants, ensuring they understand design decisions and can autonomously handle implementation, testing, training, and go-live support.
- Collaborate closely with global Business Process Owners and Template (E2E) Solution Architects in the EU and US.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Over five years of hands-on experience with SAP or its variants in project environments.
- Experience in enterprise-level SAP projects using waterfall methodology throughout the entire lifecycle with repeated success.
- Expert understanding of the SAP product suite.
- Extensive experience with SAP configuration, including workflows, validation rules, and security controls.
- Experience of defining business requirements and writing functional design documentation.
- Expert-level experience with SAP modules and underlying architecture and design.
- Experience of designing SAP software components.
- Experience integrating SAP with different business systems and working with integration tools.
- Expert understanding of environmental management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.
- Experience in greenfield, brownfield, and rollout projects, project phases, SAP Activate, and Agile project methodologies.
- Experience in manufacturing industries, preferably metal and/or automotive.
- Experience in people management.
- College or University degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Customising knowledge.
- ABAP Debug experience.
- Understanding of integration (iDocs, EDI messages).
- Proficiency with Office 365.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Team player.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Driving licence.
