The company you're going to work at: 

Our client is a multinational company focus on Cash Management Solutions for their clients.

They have several solutions in this field around the world and they´re looking for a launch team based in Lisbon in order to build their second Global Shared Services (Europe Scope) that will be placed in Lisbon, Portugal. 

Your new role: 

Reporting to the Head of Global Shared Services this role represents the brand of the Global Shared Services Organization responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Regional Shared Services Center. The overall objective of this position is to provide strategic guidance and operational leadership for the Shared Services Center during the start-up phase and subsequent ongoing operations as the Shared Service Center grows.

  • Supports the launch of the Shared Service Center including facilities infrastructure, compliance, and resource requirements; 
  • Ensures continuity of the transition of services from the countries to the center; Works with the GPOs and continuous improvement team on driving productivity improvements and standardization;
  • Keeps informed of industry and regulatory trends and preparing the Shared Services Center to respond efficiently and effectively to the changing business and legal environment;
  • Establishes a long-range technology plan, evaluating and recommending new technologies to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, customer service and/or the quality of the work environment at the Shared Service Center;
  • Reviews vendor performance and anticipate risks/escalations;
  • Drives the monthly financial reporting process, planning, budgeting and address variances;
  • Communicates with the VP GSS on performance, operating risks, projects, and metrics;
  • Acts in the capacity of a role-model to the center employees; upholds the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics and integrity;
  • Build a strong leadership pipeline through hiring, internal movements, succession planning, talent reviews etc;
  • Drives capability building initiatives through identified programs in learning and development, career management, mentoring, coaching etc;
  • Represents the Shared Service Center in meetings, negotiations and/or task force participation with internal and external customers, other client functions, vendors and regulatory agencies;
  • Ensure compliance with governance rules such as SOX, Health & Safety and internal policies.


What you need to be successful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business / up to Master’s degree or equivalent level of business experience;
  • Minimum of 7-12 years of general management experience in a shared services organization;
  • Up to 15 to 20 years of relevant experience working with captive centers or BPO firms (5+ years in Leadership role);
  • A working knowledge of project management disciplines and processes;
  • Knowledge and application of quality improvement processes, e.g., Lean Six Sigma;
  • Experience in setting up GBS and managing work-process transition in multiple countries of a region (such as EMEA or APAC) would be useful for delivery of this role;
  • English fluent and other language is an add value;
  • Travel flexible.
