Your new role
As a Service Owner for Atlassian, you will take ownership of the Atlassian service offering, ensuring its continuous evolution, stability, cost efficiency, and alignment with business needs. Working closely with architects, project teams, external partners, and key stakeholders, you will act as the bridge between business requirements and service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Define and continuously evolve the Atlassian service strategy and roadmap, covering Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management and related tools;
- Drive service governance, ensuring alignment between business objectives, operational requirements, and technical capabilities;
- Manage stakeholder relationships across multiple business functions and organisational levels;
- Own demand management processes, balancing priorities and driving service improvements;
- Monitor and improve service performance through KPIs, reporting, and customer satisfaction metrics;
- Manage service budgets, software licensing, vendor relationships, and contractual agreements;
- Coordinate upgrades, maintenance activities, service changes, and communications;
- Collaborate closely with technical teams and solution architects to ensure a scalable and sustainable service model;
- Contribute to the definition of operating models, governance frameworks, and service management processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Service Owner, Service Manager, Platform Owner, or in a similar role;
- Strong experience working with Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management;
- Good understanding of Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments;
- Solid knowledge of IT Service Management principles and ITIL frameworks;
- Experience managing service lifecycles, governance structures, and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge when required;
- Experience managing budgets, software licensing, vendors, and third-party suppliers;
- Ability to work effectively within complex, international, and matrixed organisations;
- A structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset;
- Excellent communication skills in English.
