Elementis is establishing a new office and modern laboratory in Porto, Portugal. Your New Role

The Senior Scientist, New Growth Areas (HI&I) will be integral in developing data and sales tools to support our HI&I business.  You will work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand and support customer needs.  A key focus of this position will involve evaluating Elementis’ products in the various formulations for the purposes of new product development, generation of technical data for marketing and sales presentations, and providing test data towards customers’ product application issues and needs.

As a Senior Scientist, New Growth Areas (HI&I) you will be responsible for:

• Performance evaluation of existing and new technologies in the HI&I product range to support business unit strategies;  
• Design experimentation on the bench with conventional and/or non-conventional/creative approaches that will lead to unique product claims and benefits (with new formula bases, raw ingredients and processing techniques);
• Communicate data both internally and externally;
• Design new technical data packages and formulations driven by customer needs and market trens;
• Present new data to the market via conferences, trade show speaking engagements and white papes;
• Be the main technical contact for customers, distributors, and sales managers.

What you will need to be succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science;
• +7 years’ experience in HI&I formulating and/or ingredient testing;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a strong capability for presentation creation, Project management software;
• Excellent communication skills, communicating clearly and effectively both written and oral across internal teams and other partners;
• Fluency in English - verbal and written.

What the Company can Offer you

Whilst this role will be based at the Porto Hub, there will be occasions where you may be required to travel to other Elementis sites.
